Announcing Filmmaking 101: A Monthly Column on Business and Law Basics for Independent Filmmakers
CONCORD, NH — Jon Garon, of counsel with Gallagher, Callahan & Gartrell, will author a series of business and law articles on topics of importance to independent filmmakers starting with this month's column on Purchasing the Literary Property. Filmmaking 101 launches in tandem with his appearance as a panelist at the New Hampshire Film Expo, and is based on excerpts from his book, The Independent Filmmaker's Law and Business Guide: Financing, Shooting, and Distributing Independent and Digital Films.
Attorney Garon is a nationally recognized authority on intellectual property, particularly copyright law, entertainment and media law. He will participate in a panel on financing independent film projects titled “Investments vs. Donations and Grants," presented by the New Hampshire Film and Television Office.
