Gallagher on Federal Patent Reform Panel
WASHINGTON, DC — Attorney Christopher Gallagher, founder of the Concord law firm Gallagher, Callahan and Gartrell, recently participated on a federal panel titled "Unintended Consequences: The Adverse Impact of the Senate Patent Reform Bill on American Manufacturing, Jobs, R&D, and Innovation." The briefing was hosted by the U.S. Business and Industry Council in Washington, DC.
Gallagher represents Amberwave Systems of Salem, NH, a leader in the research, development and licensing of advanced technologies for semiconductor manufacturing. Amberwave, as well as several other New England high technology companies, have actively opposed pending patent legislation due to the impact on domestic manufacturers.
"In today’s knowledge economy the ability of inventors to securely patent their ideas and successfully commercialize them is critical to the future of our country's manufacturing base, state programs for economic development and New Hampshire's economy," said Gallagher. "Legislation currently being considered by Congress would undermine that system."
Gallagher, Callahan & Gartrell is a multidisciplinary law firm with offices in Augusta, Maine; Boston, Massachusetts; and Concord, New Hampshire.
