Shapiro Receives BIA Award for Her Work on Energy and Taxes
CONCORD, NH - Dr. Lisa K. Shapiro, chief economist at Gallagher, Callahan & Gartrell, was honored recently by the New Hampshire Business & Industry Association at its annual meeting. Dr. Shapiro received the association's "Above & Beyond" award for her work related to minimizing business taxation and enhancing energy opportunities for business and industry.
Dr. Shapiro is the author of the recent New Hampshire Bankers Association study on the economic impact of increasing business taxes, "Budget Deficits and Business Taxes in New Hampshire." Dr. Shapiro's most recent work on energy, "Making Economic Sense of Electricity Price Spikes," was published in the national journal, Energy User News.
Dr. Shapiro holds a Ph.D. in economics from Johns Hopkins University. Gallagher Callahan & Gartrell is a multidisciplinary government and regulatory law firm serving markets throughout New England.

At the BIA annual meeting, seven BIA members were honored with the BIA Above & Beyond Award for their outstanding contributions to the association.
