John Curran is a litigation attorney who focuses his practice on municipalities, insurance defense and landlord-tenant law.

He has represented numerous counties and towns in both the federal and state courts of New Hampshire. He has tried many jury cases to defense verdict, including a series of cases for the Hillsborough County (NH) Department of Corrections.

He has served on several state and local boards and commissions including:

John is admitted in New Hampshire and Maine, state and federal courts, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.

Prior to joining Gallagher, Callahan & Gartrell, John's experience has included work at several New Hampshire law firms. John served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of New Hampshire, assigned to the Department of Justice's Criminal Bureau, where he prosecuted homicide cases and represented the state in criminal appeals and federal habeas corpus proceedings (1992-1995).

He is a graduate of Boston College and Suffolk University Law School. Following law school, he served as a judicial law clerk and deputy senior law clerk with the New Hampshire Superior Court.
