Attorney Deragon Addresses Gender Inequality and the Justice Field

CONCORD, NH — Attorney Beth Deragon of Gallagher, Callahan & Gartrell, PC, participated in a panel discussion on gender inequality and the justice field with UNH undergraduate students on November 9th. Attorney Deragon, who chairs the New Hampshire Bar Association’s Gender Equality Committee, spoke about the findings and analyses of the NH Bar Associations’ latest 10-year follow-up to the Women in the Profession survey. While some advancements are noted, the survey indicates that "optimism is slipping" among female attorneys and their participation in law firm management has not grown.

Deragon is an active member of the NH Bar Association, chair of the Gender Equality Committee, and vice chair of the Labor and Employment Law section. Beth counsels employers on a variety of employment matters from hiring, discipline, termination, anti-discrimination, harassment, wage and hour compliance, employment agreements, independent contractor agreements, leaves of absence, workplace privacy, non-competition agreements, NH DOL audits, unemployment compensation claims, reductions-in-force, and separation agreements to immigration matters.

In addition to being an active member of the NH Bar Association, Deragon is also a member of the Daniel Webster-Batchelder American Inns of Court, SHRM – Society for Human Resource Management, Human Resources Association - Greater Concord, and DRI – The Voice of the Defense Bar.

Gallagher, Callahan & Gartrell is a leading business and litigation law firm located in Concord, New Hampshire.
