Attorney Newman Elected to ARDA’s New England Legislative Committee

CONCORD, NH — Gallagher, Callahan and Gartrell is pleased to announce that attorney Erik Newman, who focuses his land use practice in the areas of condominium and timeshare law, real estate development and environmental law, was recently elected as a member of the New England Legislative Committee of the American Resort Development Association (ARDA). ARDA is a trade association that represents the vacation ownership and resort development industries. Members include developers, home owners associations, resort management companies, industry vendors, suppliers, and consultants. 

Attorney Newman has been active for several years in advocating for the interests of timeshare resort developers and homeowner association members before state legislatures throughout New England and recently presented a legislative update as part of a two-day conference for ARDA Northeast, held on June 6th and 7th in Providence, Rhode Island. 

Attorney Newman advises developers concerning condominium and subdivision matters and has registered numerous projects with the Department of Justice. He also assists homeowners associations in drafting and reforming project instruments and resolving property administration issues. Erik has been active in advocating for changes to the laws affecting timeshares and condominiums. He has coordinated state and local permitting of commercial and residential developments and prepared commercial lease agreements. Erik frequently negotiates all aspects of the acquisition, sale and financing of properties.
