Lisa Shapiro analyzes economic and industry trends and works with businesses on strategic and economic issues and legislative and regulatory matters. She frequently provides testimony to the New Hampshire Legislature and works on matters before New Hampshire regulatory agencies.
Dr. Shapiro is a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston's New England Public Policy Center Advisory Board, and was appointed by Governor John Lynch in 2007 to serve on the NH Retirement System Review Commission. Dr. Shapiro authored the study Budget
Deficits and Business Taxes in New Hampshire estimating the economic impact of further increasing New Hampshire business taxes, and was a member of the New Hampshire Commission on Education Funding. She led the Economic Perspectives Technical Work Group of the New Hampshire Comparative Risk Project, and periodically teaches economics at the University of New Hampshire and its Whittemore School of Business and Economics.
She is a frequent speaker on public policy issues affecting businesses, including taxes, energy, telecommunications and the environment.
Dr. Shapiro holds a Ph.D. in economics from The Johns Hopkins University.
