Shapiro Appointed to Fed’s Public Policy Advisory Board

CONCORD, NH – Dr. Lisa K. Shapiro, chief economist at law firm, Gallagher, Callahan & Gartrell, has been appointed to the advisory board of the New England Public Policy Center at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. The board was established this year to inform the center’s research agenda and guide its regional outreach and communications strategy.

Approximately 21 members from all six New England states have been invited to sit on the NEPPC board. The group is mainly composed of the region’s leading legislative staff, policy analysts, academics and media members. In addition to Shapiro, local members include: Lewis Feldstein, president of New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, Curt Grimm, director of programs of Carsey Institute and Steve Norton, director of New Hampshire Center for Public Policy Studies.

Dr. Shapiro authored the study Budget Deficits and Business Taxes in New Hampshire estimating the economic impact of further increasing New Hampshire business taxes. Additional articles are available in the Economic Analysis resources section of the firm’s website.
